Strength & Running
4 training days
Four sessions. A kettlebell handles the strength, your feet handle the rest. Two of the strength days are short and bolted onto a run — one hard, one easy. One day is pure bodyweight, so it travels. And Friday has a movement most people have never tried, which is the part that actually changes something.
How to run this week
Do the sessions on whatever days fit your schedule — the day names are just an order. The only things to keep to:
- Leave a day between the two kettlebell strength days (Monday and Friday). They hit the same muscles — back to back, they dig a hole instead of building.
- Take a rest day whenever you need one. Two are built in; more is fine, skipping them usually isn't.
- Short on time? Cut the finisher, keep the main work, and never skip the warm-up.
- Losing a whole session? Drop the long run before you drop a bell day — the two strength sessions are what the week is built around.
Monday — Strength + intervals
~40 minShort and heavy on the bell, then the intervals do the conditioning. Don't drag the strength out — you want something left for the run.
Warm-up
Straight through, twice- Standing Kettlebell Halo
Slow.
2 rounds × 5 reps · each direction - World's Greatest Stretch5 reps · each side
Main work
4 rounds · 45–60s rest between rounds- 12 reps
- Push Press6 reps · each arm
Both moves back to back is one round — rest only after the second, then go again.
Run
~20 minInterval run: after an easy 5-minute jog, 6 rounds of 1 minute hard / 2 minutes easy, then jog it out. Hard means you couldn't say more than a word or two.
Tuesday
Rest. A short easy walk is welcome, nothing structured.
Wednesday — Bodyweight + easy run
~35 minNo bell today — this is the session that travels. Keep the pace honest and the positions clean; slow is fine, sloppy isn't.
Run
15 min, before you startEasy run to warm up — conversational the whole way. If running isn't on today, a brisk 20-minute walk does the same job.

Combo B
3 rounds · 45–60s rest between rounds- Halo Lunge
New this week. Halo first, then step back — finish one side before the other. Go lighter than your ego wants; clumsy is the training effect, not a mistake.
4 reps · each side - Swing-Clean-Press Chain
One continuous chain — swing into the clean, clean into the press.
5 reps · each side
This combo holds the new move. Keep it light — the goal is clean reps, not a heavy day.
Saturday — Long run or walk
~45 minThe week's one long, slow effort. Steady the whole way — this builds the base everything else sits on.
Run
